Happy New Year

My dear friend Bonnie sent the cutest New Years card that she had made and it had this poem on it......Enjoy

Ode To January

'Twas the month after Christmas, and all through the house Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste At the holiday parties had gone to my waist.
When I got on the scales there arose such a number! When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber).
I'd remember the marvellous meals I'd prepared; The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared,
The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese And the way I'd never said, 'No thank you, please.'
As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt And prepared once again to do battle with dirt -
I said to myself, as I only can 'You can't spend a winter disguised as a man!'
So - away with the last of the sour cream dip, Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished 'Till all the additional ounces have vanished.
I won't have a cookie - not even a lick.I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.
I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie, I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.
I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore But isn't that what January is for?
Unable to giggle, no longer a riot.Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!

Toddler Talk

Conversation between Madison and Parker this morning. She handed him her little stuffed lamb with these instrutions....

Perk, here is my little baby lamb. Now you need to take him to the farm to his mommy and daddy, but BE CAREFUL, do not let him bite you and DO NOT drop him!! (Always the mother you know)
Parkers response "Oh Pay (that is how he says ok), let's go to the farm." And off they walk to the farm, I mean bedroom : )

Take It To The Mattresses

Sunday night thru Tuesday afternoon the wildflower's stayed with my parents. It was a time for me to get a lot of things done. I made a lot of Christmas items, ran a lot of errands that aren't fun to run with wildflowers in tow and swapped out toddler beds for big kid beds. This was actually sad for Matthew and I. As he was dismantling the cribs/toddler beds, something crazy came flying out his mouth ......"Let's have another baby!" It made me sad to loose the cribs, but not sad enough to want another baby!!! All I could think about was going thru it all again.....NO THANKYOU!!!
So anyway, we switched beds, I cleaned out clothes, toys, vacuumed and dusted....it was like 5 hour affair!! My parents got new sheets for the kids, Princesses for Madison and Thomas for Parker. I found cute 3 piece pink and blue quilts at Ross for $19 each!! They were a great find!!
So this is what we had before:

And this with the big kid arrangement:
The princess treatment:

Happy in their beds.....

A side note: Parker: Parker fell out of his bed and Madison ended up slithering into my bed about 12:30 am!! So much for comfy new beds!!
