Back to reality it is. Matthew and I had a wonderful night away on Saturday night. We started out by going to an early movie. We seen Fools Gold, which was a pretty cute chick flick. Then we went to dinner at Carrabas....super yummy!! We then checked into The Broadmoor around 7:30. While we were checking in, there was a lady that came up to the desk and requested an additional room key. So the clerk asked if she had lost hers, and so she proceeded to tell her that her husband told her that he didn't care for her attitude and so she had walked away from him. She now needed in her room and didn't have her I.D. or a key......how awful to be at such a beautiful place and be in a fight with your spouse!! And how embarrassing to have to tell the clerk that!! Anyway....the bellman took us to our room, which they had upgraded to a bigger room....it was fabulous!! There were Broadmoor chocolates and a birthday card for me signed buy the hotel president sitting on the table!! How cool was that!! It was a wonderful evening! We walked around the resort and watched the rich folk come and go. There was a wedding in the ballroom so it was fun to watch the bride and grooms first dance....We had coffee in the cafe' and headed back to our beautiful room. I took some pics of it, but they just don't do it justice. One of the coolest things too was you could watch movies on the TV that were still in the theater. We ordered Juno which is a great movie I think! Sunday morning we woke up late, walked around the lake and ate brunch. A neat thing was that the host pulls the chair out for the ladies and places the cloth napkin in your lap....I told Matthew that I would appreciate this service at home....I think he thought I was kidding!! The 2008 US Senior Open will be on Broadmoore golf course in August so hopefully we will be able to go see some great golfers! Anyway, it was a wonderful time, but I must say I missed the wildflowers! Not so sure that they missed us though.....they had a pretty great time with grammy and papo!! The last time we were able to have a weekend getaway was 8 months ago, so I hope we don't have to wait that long for our next getaway!!
Here are some pics:
