Tonight we watched some home video of when Madison was a tiny baby. You tend to forget those sweet sounds babies make, and those little faces that are just so precious. She has been a joy since she was born. I can hardly believe that 4 years have passed since that early morning Matthew rushed me to the hospital. She was born 2 weeks early, but she was perfectly healthy, weighing 5lbs9oz. She had lots of hair and her skin was olive. She has grown into quite a gal for sure! She loves to dress in dresses and fancy shoes. She changes her clothes about 5 times a day. She adores the Disney Princesses and can name them all! She sings opera- like like the princesses and it is so funny and cute! She loves to be in a dress when her dad comes homes from work so that he can dance with her and be her King and her, his princess. She still has a binky and loves to rug your arm or ear lobe while she has her bink in......the plan is to tie all the binks to balloons at her 4th birthday party and let them all go. She is a sugar freak! She cannot seem to get enough!! She loves to push her babies around in her strollers. She loves her neighborhood friends Ana and Elizabeth. Sometimes she calls me Tricia instead of mom.....that makes me laugh! Madison loves going to her grandparents house, both sets. She loves the park and playing in the sand. She adores all of her cousins! She is growing so tall that I can hardly believe it. Most size 4 pants are to short and she is now almost into a 5.

Catching You Up
So I haven't been blogging to much lately. I tend to get into a little mild winter depression around this time of year, and I believe that is where I have been the past few months. I am starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel.....warm weather here and there, green sprouts are starting to appear in my flower beds....things like this make me happy! This doesn't mean that there hasn't been much to blog about, just no motivation to actually sit down and write it out.

Last month I was able to get together with some great girlfriends from high school. That is always lots of fun! Time always flies by to quickly when your discussing old times and new times! One girlfriend I have known since I was 6, one since I was 13 and one since I was about 10. Good times were had for sure! I also got to spend the night in Denver with my sis in law and see the movie He's Just Not That Into You.....it was pretty cute.

I turned 34 on Valentines Day. I am coming to terms with that. I guess I just never imagined myself old! I mean I guess I new it was going to happen, but I never thought about it.....that is until those grey hairs popped up on my head! I thought that didn't happen until at least 40!! You have got to be kidding me!! Luckily, Kelly took care of a lot of those last week....for a few weeks at least! My husband always jokes that my birthday last at least 2 weeks! Isn't that how it is supposed to be??
A tree blew over on our house.....ya that was pretty crazy!! No one was hurt, just the roof. Now, since the roof has to be replaced, we are toying around with the idea of building up a level on our house for some MUCH needed room. I am excited about having a walk in closet, since our house was built in 1913, they didn't have some frivolous things. I am not excited about the process that it will all take!! I will keep you posted on that.
I have been preschool shopping for Madison. I can hardly believe she will be 4 this week. As I was touring one last week, I felt a huge not in my throat! Not a good sign for what will come on the first day of school!
So that is a little of what has been going on to me and my wildflowers lately. I will try not to be a stranger this spring. Talk to you soon

Your One Beauty
So I am not sure if many of you are fans of the movie "Little Women". In that movie one of the sisters, Joe, sells her hair. Her sister, Amy, pittifully exclaims, oh how could you.....your one beauty!!
That pretty much sums up my attitude towards my hair. It's the one thing that I have got! And I don't get to dote on it too much these days. But this week is the week. Yesterday, my mom gave me my yearly perm. Yes, I still get perms! I know....it's such an 80's thing to do, but I do it. I feel like a drowned rat without one! It's about a 3 hour process, but it' worth it.
Then today, I get to go see my dear hairdresser Kelly....who is a man. He is wonderful, both as a hairdresser and a person!! It is such a relaxing experiencec stepping into the salon and sliding into his chair. Ahhhhh!! So, I will be feeling like a new women by the end of this day and I am looking forward to it!

New Caledonia Anyone??

So we didn't kick off 2009 in very good fashion here at our house. The kids and I spent the first week with the stomach flu. I tend to be proned to a little depression this time of year anyway. All the fun and excitement from the holidays is over, it has been cold for at least 2 months, all traces of any tan are gone and the pastiness has set in, the kids can't go outside and play, some sort of diet has been set into motion.....all those sorts of things contribute to a little depression. I find myself cruising the net for some sort of dream tropical destination that I can go to in my mind. So last night while watching the news, Mike Huckabee had the Duby Brothers on his show. They were talking about the closest place to paradise that they have been is to New Caledonia.

Now, I had never heard of his place and I had to do a little research! New Caledonia is breathtaking! It is located in the middle of nowhere in the South Pacific, between Fiji and Australia. So, if I somehow run into a boatload of money, you know where you can find me : )
Check thru the pics on this link.....it will bring a warm smile to your face, guaranteed!! So this week is my week to pull myself out of the depression and put myself back together.....wish me luck because this is what we are dealing with today......

Happy New Year
My dear friend Bonnie sent the cutest New Years card that she had made and it had this poem on it......Enjoy
Ode To January
'Twas the month after Christmas, and all through the house Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste At the holiday parties had gone to my waist.
When I got on the scales there arose such a number! When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber).
I'd remember the marvellous meals I'd prepared; The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared,
The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese And the way I'd never said, 'No thank you, please.'
As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt And prepared once again to do battle with dirt -
I said to myself, as I only can 'You can't spend a winter disguised as a man!'
So - away with the last of the sour cream dip, Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished 'Till all the additional ounces have vanished.
I won't have a cookie - not even a lick.I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.
I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie, I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.
I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore But isn't that what January is for?
Unable to giggle, no longer a riot.Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!

Toddler Talk
Conversation between Madison and Parker this morning. She handed him her little stuffed lamb with these instrutions....
Perk, here is my little baby lamb. Now you need to take him to the farm to his mommy and daddy, but BE CAREFUL, do not let him bite you and DO NOT drop him!! (Always the mother you know)
Parkers response "Oh Pay (that is how he says ok), let's go to the farm." And off they walk to the farm, I mean bedroom : )
