Pumpkin Patch Duds

So I thought that the wildflowers needed something "Fallish" to wear when we go to the Pumpkin Patch on Saturday, weather permitting. I was browsing (when I say browse, it's more like spend the entire kids naptime) thru "Etsy" today and seen lots of cute shirts/onesies with Pumpins sewed on....so I borrowed their cute ideas!! By the way, I got some of my Christmas shopping done on Etsy today too! The wildflowers both have some hand me down overalls/overall dress that needed some sprucing up. I purchased 3 different fallish materials, fashioned some pumpkins, did a little hand stitching around them and the bottom of Madison's jumper and this is what I came up with....nothing to crazy mind you!!

Project Revealed....Emmeline Apron for Amy Rene

So I can finally reveal my project because it was given as a gift to one of my most favorite people in the whole wide world.....my dear sister-in-love Amy Rene!! Now, I am surrounded by so many wonderful "Amys" in my life. I have another sis-in-love, Amy Catherine, that is sweet as pie. It is not often that you have two wonderful friends that are also SILs. I have a dear cousin named Amy, I have a best friend from college named Amy, and there is a special bloggy friend named Amy. So not only is Amy Rene my "sister"....she is one of the dearest friends a girl could have. She is the one I call when I am happy, sad, mad at my husband, when my kids are driving me up the wall, when I need to know a recipe, when I can't remember the name of a TV show (which by the way was Cashmere Mafia that they pulled off of the air), when I have found a great blog, when I have vital information to share (AKA gossip). She is my go-to girl!! The only awful thing is that she lives in OKLAHOMA!! Now that us a bummer!!

She has turned 30 something and she mentioned in one of her blogs that she was looking for a good apron. So I happen to think that this is the cutest apron I have seen and I found the pattern here. It is reversible...here is the first side......
and here is the second side.....

here is a picture of how it is supposed to fit......

So Happy Birthday my dear sis-in-love!! I wish I could take you to Starbucks and treat you to a Pumpkin Spice Latte!! Looking forward to Thanksgiving!!
Love to you!!

Capellini Caprese

I found the recipe for Capellii Caprese in the Kraft Magazine that comes in the mail. I added some things to it and it turned out really tastey!!
1/2 lb. capellini or spaghetti
1/2 cup kraft tuscan house italian dressing (I used kraft House italian reduced fat)
1 onion minced
2 cloves garlic minced
3 cups halved grape tomatoes (I used 2 chopped tomatoes)
1 cup mozarella cheese
1 bunch asparages, boiled and chopped.
3 chopped cooked chicken breasts( I cooked them in some of the dressing)
1/3 cup fresh basil (I did not have this)
*Cook pasta as directed.
*Meanwhile, heat dressing in large skillet. Add onions and garlic and cook until onions are cooked. Add tomatoes, asparagues and chicken and cook until all are heated through, stirring occasionally.
*Drain pasta. Add pasta to mixture and mix. Sprikle with cheese and enjoy!!( I also salted it a bit)

Back to Sick Reality

So I had a wonderful time in L.A. last weekend, but I was welcomed home by sick, snotting, coughing, whining, sleepless wildflowers. Poor things, but they are a mess. Sleep is suffering, therefore so is patience on my part. Your perspective on life just takes a nose dive when you don't get enough sleep. Hopefully they will be feeling better soon.
About California....it was great. This was the first time I had been away for the wildflowers for 3 nights. I had a wonderful time spending the weekend with my girlfriend. It's so funny...you think you will run out of things to talk about, but we just never do! Here is how the weekend played out...Friday our flights were delayed out of Denver so we didn't fly out until 12:30 A.M.!! We arrived at our hotel at 2:30 and had to be up at 7:30...needless to say we were a little tired! We stayed at the Hyatt Century and it was beautiful!!
Her appointment went well, and afterwords we got In and Out Burger for lunch. It was YUMMY!! I had heard about that place from friends from college and finally got to have some.
Back to our room for a long nap that was well needed. We also watched Baby Momma which was pretty funny! Later that evening our friend Jennifer from college came and took us to Rodeo Drive. We walked by some of the designer stores, and frankly felt a little out of place!! It was fun though. We had some pizza and got a chance to catch up on one anothers lives. It was a fun time together!
The next morning we we ate at a yummy brunch and went and layed by the pool and relaxed some more!!
That afternoon, we drove down to Santa Monica and up Pacific Coast Highway. Beautiful! I love the beach, so this was a real treat for me!!
That night we just hungout and relaxed. We had to be up at 3:40a.m. to catch our flight out of LAX! All in all, it was a great trip! I am thankful that I had the chance to go! Now I can finally say that I have been to California!!
